HYDERABAD: The Telangana Gig and Platform Workers Union (TGPWU) has demanded meaningful social security, pension protection and dignified living conditions for gig and platform workers. The union’s demand came as the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) expanded access to the National Pension System (NPS) through its e-Shramik (Platform Service Partner) Model
The framework enables platform workers to access NPS through digital aggregators, widening opportunities to save for retirement.
The union invited delivery partners, cab and auto drivers, grocery and e-commerce workers and other platform workers to contact its office for information and guidance on pensions, NPS and social-security rights.
