Hyderabad: The GHMC said it was promoting eco-friendly celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi by distributing clay idols of Lord Ganesha and arranging separate bins at immersion points for garlands and other puja material.
On Thursday too, the corporation said it distributed eco-friendly clay idols at various locations.
The corporation requested devotees to not dump flowers and other puja material into lakes, nalas or on the road side. These could choke drains and nalas, create garbage vulnerable points (GVPs), cause waterlogging and foul odour, and contribute to unhygienic conditions and the spread of diseases.
