GHMC To Expand Shamshabad, Rajendranagar Roads To Ease Suburban Traffic

To address the growing traffic problem in the busy Shamshabad and Rajendranagar areas, the GHMC is expediting the expansion works of two major roads in the suburban areas

Hyderabad: To address the growing traffic problem in the busy Shamshabad and Rajendranagar areas, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is expediting the expansion works of two major roads in the suburban areas, which have been pending for a long time.

A total of 23,496 square yards of land will be acquired for these two routes. With the rapid rise in multi-storey buildings, the population and vehicular density have increased manifold. However, with road expansion works remaining pending, locals continue to grapple with severe traffic congestion.
As part of this, GHMC has started the land acquisition process required for construction of 100- feet roads, and notifications have been issued for development of one corridor from Gollapalli NH-44 junction in Shamshabad mandal to Pedda Golkonda via ORR service road, and another Corridor No. 19, where a major road will be widened in Rajendranagar mandal limits. This route will be developed with a 100-foot width, connecting the ORR service road to Chevella Road via Bandlaguda Jagir and Kismatpur.
Once these roads are constructed and made available, vehicles going from ORR to various parts of the city are likely to get alternative routes.
