HYDERABAD: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will distribute one lakh clay idols on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Distribution will commence in the second week of September to residents, welfare associations and organisers of Ganesh mandaps.
According to GHMC, the idols procured this year are made of natural clay and biodegradable materials without artificial additives. Distribution will be taken up by staff at the GHMC Circle level.
As part of festival arrangements, including nimajjanam, a dedicated coordination mechanism will be established to promptly address issues relating to roads, barricading, cranes, electricity, water supply, sanitation and emergency services.
