Commissioner urges fast action and public help to keep city clean during monsoon
Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan has directed officials to conduct the ongoing monsoon sanitation drive on a war footing. Accompanied by Charminar MLA Mir Zulfeqar Ali, MLC Mirza Rahmat Baig and senior GHMC officials, he inspected sanitation works in LB Nagar and Charminar zones.
During the inspection, he reviewed the availability of basic supplies, the status of the sanitation drive and the progress of heritage development initiatives in the zones. He stated that the entomology department would intensify fogging and anti-larval operations to curb the mosquito menace.
As part of the drive, sanitation workers will operate daily from 5.30 am to 1.30 pm. Vehicles have been deployed to ensure immediate clearance of waste, including construction and demolition debris.
The commissioner appealed to citizens to cooperate with the civic staff by refraining from dumping waste on roads, using designated dustbins and maintaining cleanliness in their premises.
