GHMC Panel Meet on Dec. 29, Roads, Graveyard on Top Agenda

Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Standing Committee will meet on Monday, December 29, to deliberate on major civic, infrastructure, and administrative proposals.
Key agenda items include property acquisition permissions for the H-CITI project in Miyapur and Ameenpur, involving roads, flyovers, and underpasses. For the proposed 45-metre road from NH-9 Chandanagar to Ameenpur and a 30-metre road towards St. Arnold High School, 124 properties are to be acquired. Another 220 properties are earmarked for acquisition for flyover and underpass works between Miyapur and Allwyn crossroads.
The committee will also consider a Rs. 2.6 crore proposal for developing a BC graveyard in Madhapur’s Chandanagar, with facilities such as a burning unit, pooja mandapam, seating galleries, toilet blocks, and rainwater harvesting.
A Rs. 2.65 crore box drain project in Jambagh near Koti’s SBI branch is on the agenda to improve stormwater drainage in the busy commercial hub.
Administrative matters include filling vacant Senior Assistant posts for 2025–26, inviting tenders for AI-based solutions like chatbots and automated form-filling on the GHMC website, and extending the lease of 689 sq. yds to Hyderabad Study Circle in Domalguda.
CSR proposals include installing a helmet sculpture at Tarnaka Junction and fencing 10 km around Masjid Banda at a cost of Rs. 5 crore. Maintenance of greenery, medians, flyovers, and parks across zones—including Mindspace and Gachibowli flyovers—will also be discussed.
The committee will seek permission for 145 corporators to undertake a study tour to Ahmedabad and Chandigarh. It will also deliberate on the unauthorised occupation of Chacha Nehru Park playground in Masab Tank by Sports Coaching Foundation for non-payment of lease.
