GHMC Launches IEC Drive to Combat Rainy Season Vector-Borne Diseases

The campaign focused on dengue prevention, Friday dry day, integrated disease surveillance oroject (IDSP).

Hyderabad:GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan directed health wing entomology staff to intensify field-level activities for prevention of vector-borne diseases in the rainy season. He was speaking at the launch of awareness and information, education and communication (IEC) initiatives developed by the corporation’s Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) on Saturday.

The campaign focused on dengue prevention, Friday dry day, integrated disease surveillance oroject (IDSP). The IDSP is an initiative of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Dog bites, recurring diarrhoea, jaundice etc can be reported to the NCDC via the QR Code on health ministry or NCDC website.

Transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar who launched these initiatives, emphasised on citizen participation.
