GHMC Begins Pre-SIR Works
The officials of the GHMC asserted that the pre-SIR should not be compared with the summary revision of electoral rolls.

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials have begun pre-Special Intensive Revision (SIR) activity in Hyderabad, mapping the present electoral rolls with the final rolls of 2002.
Following this, the list of electors whose names are in the 2002 rolls as well as in the present rolls will be available, along with the changes, which include changes in address, etc. There is a meeting scheduled with the representatives of political parties and the state chief executive officer (CEO), and the future course of action will be chalked out.
The officials of the GHMC asserted that the pre-SIR should not be compared with the summary revision of electoral rolls. “We are just mapping the data of the 2002 rolls and the present electoral rolls to submit to the Election Authority. However, presently, there will be no deletion of names,” said an official from the GHMC.
The key tasks of the SIR include printing Unique Enumeration Forms (EFs) for each elector. EFs will contain the necessary details as contained in the current voter list.
As a part of the SIR, the booth-level officers (BLOs) should distribute the EFs to each existing elector. They should also help the elector in matching/ linking with either their name or their relative’s name in the last SIR held in 2002–2004.
For matching/linking electors, the BLOs can also access the All-India database (https://voters.eci.gov.in/) of the previous SIR. “Notices will be issued for electors who could not be matched/linked with the last SIR. However, presently, the pre-SIR activity is underway,” said a GHMC official.
