Hyderabad: GHMC commissioner R.V. Karnan and HYDRAA commissioner A.V. Ranganath inspected being taken to prevent flooding the arterial road at Ameerpet’s Maitrivanam during rain. The occicials, along with Khairatabad zonal commissioner Anuraag Jayanti, directed teams to speed up nala desilting and strengthening works to ensure smoother water flow.
Both officials inspected obstacles affecting the flow in drainage channels in Ameerpet, and stressed the need for long-term solutions to address urban flooding. They assessed possibilities for permanently controlling flood intensity near Ameerpet Metro Rail Station and Maitrivanam through field-level exercises.
