Gas companies conducted cookery competition to women

Karimnagar: Public sector oil companies conducted a cookery competition for women, ‘Mana Vantagadi-Mana Badhyatha’ here on Sunday. The companies, including HPCL, IOCL and BPCL, briefed the participants on using LPG properly, maintenance of sanitation and cleanliness to avoid mishaps.

Officials said that people should check the LPG cylinders during delivery, placed the stove on a platform and switch off the regulator when not in use. The rubber tube should be changed every five years. Users should dial 1906 if they notice any gas leakage.

Telangana LPG Association vice-president Harikrishna, senior sales officer Mitta Ramesh, Huzurabad Ambuja Gas Agency owner P.V. Madan Mohan and Indane Gas dealer Bomma Radhakrishna were present.

The organisers later felicitated the delivery staff for conducting primary check of LPG cylinders and inspecting for leakage before delivering them to the customers.

Locals Kalyani, Phanitha and Chaitanya acted as judges and announced prizes to winners Pushkarini, Ramadevi and Sunitha.
