Garimella Named FTCCI Vice President

Hyderabad: City-based entrepreneur Srinivas Garimella has been elected vice president of the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI). His election was ratified at the chamber’s managing committee meeting on Tuesday.
Garimella is chairman of Daifuku Intralogistics India, the Indian arm of Japanese multinational Daifuku, which had earlier acquired Vega Conveyors and Automation, a company he co-founded over two decades ago.
Associated with FTCCI for nearly a decade, he has served in various capacities, including chairman of the industrial development committee. He has been a strong advocate for MSME empowerment, skill development and policy reforms to boost industrial growth in Telangana. He is also a start-up investor, mentor, and thought leader, a release said.
Bharat Gaurav tour starts on Aug. 16
Hyderabad: The IRCTC’s ‘Bharat Gaurav’ special tourist train will embark on a nine-day ‘Pancha Jyotirlinga Darshan Yatra’ from Secunderabad at 2 pm on August 16. The journey will cover Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar and Grishneshwar, passing through Kamareddy, Nizamabad, Dharmabad, Mudkhed, Nanded and Purna to reach Ujjain.
Ticket prices per person are: Sleeper Class ₹14,700, 3AC ₹22,900 and 2AC ₹29,900. The package includes three meals a day, accommodation and local transport for sightseeing. TSWREIS finalises coaching campuses
Hyderabad: Students selected for IIT-JEE and NEET coaching under the Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) have been allotted campuses. Girls preparing for IIT-JEE will be placed in Gowlidoddi, while NEET aspirants will join Masab Tank and LB Nagar campuses.
Boys pursuing IIT-JEE will train at Uppal, while NEET aspirants will join LB Nagar. The Narsingi boys’ campus will cater to both streams. Students must report to TSWREIS COE Girls, Narsingi, by 9 am on August 8.
Water works disrupt supply
Hyderabad: The Water Board will undertake junction works on pipelines supplying water from Lingampally to Sanathnagar Reservoir today from 6 am to 10 pm. This will cause disruption and low-pressure supply in certain areas.
The affected areas are:

Snake bite kills woman
Nizamabad: A woman died after being bitten by a snake while working in agricultural fields in Mohammadnagar mandal of Kamareddy district on Tuesday. The victim, Kola Mamata, 32, of Pippiri thanda, was bitten on Monday afternoon and taken to the government hospital in Yellareddy. She died during treatment. The body was shifted to the Government General Hospital in Kamareddy for post-mortem. Mamata is survived by her husband and two children. Yellareddy police have registered a case.
GMR Aero offers online course
Hyderabad: GMR Aero Academy has launched its first online instructor-led training programme — the Certification in Airport, Airline and Cargo Operations (CAACO).
The three-month programme is open to graduates under 27 with good communication skills. It offers an understanding of the aviation ecosystem, covering airside operations, ramp operations, aviation security, cargo handling and customer service.
Andrew Acquaah Harrison, CEO of Airport Strategic Initiatives, GMR Aero, said the CAACO programme provides nationwide access to a comprehensive curriculum via a digital platform, removing geographical barriers and reducing travel costs.
