Ganja Worth Rs 1.18 Crore Seized, Two Held
During interrogation, the arrested accused allegedly confessed that they had purchased Ganja from Suresh Kedari and Dharam Shinde, both natives of Pune and Pabitra Kumar Sabar a native of Odisha, and have been transporting it from Odisha to Pune.
Hyderabad: The Telangana EAGLE Force, along with the Rachakonda Narcotics Police, seized 237 kg of ganja worth an estimated Rs. 1.185 crore and arrested two persons for allegedly transporting the contraband from Odisha to Maharashtra via Hyderabad.
According to the police, the ganja was concealed in a secret compartment inside a lorry. Acting on a tip-off, the EAGLE Force and the Rachakonda Narcotics Police conducted a joint operation near YNR Function Hall on NH-65 (Vijayawada–Mumbai Highway) and intercepted the vehicle.
During interrogation, the arrested accused allegedly confessed that they had purchased Ganja from Suresh Kedari and Dharam Shinde, both natives of Pune and Pabitra Kumar Sabar a native of Odisha, and have been transporting it from Odisha to Pune. Police said the contraband had been procured in Odisha and was being transported in a lorry belonging to Ayesha Truck Transport. The police also seized three mobile phones from the accused.
A case has been registered, and efforts are on to trace and arrest the remaining accused.
