Ganja Meant to be smuggled to Lanka Seized at Perambalur
Preliminary enquiries revealed that the seized contraband was meant to be smuggled to Lanka from Rameswaram: Police

Perambalur: The Perambalur police seized 235 kg ganja, worth Rs. 1.17 crore in the international market, meant to be smuggled to Sri Lanka via Rameswaram, and arrested three persons near Perambalur late Monday night.
The police said on a tip-off, their team engaged in a vehicle check at Thanneer Pandal, near Perambalur, on the Chennai-Tiruchy national highway.
The team intercepted two cars from Chennai carrying 235 kg of ganja in seven suitcases and arrested Arunkumar, Pradeep and Vignesh of Chennai and seized the contraband and the car. The police are also looking out for three more persons who managed to escape in the second car.
Preliminary enquiries revealed that the seized contraband was meant to be smuggled to Lanka from Rameswaram, the police added.
