Rajendranagar: Interstate Ganja Racket Busted, 2 Jharkhand Men Arrested

The accused were caught at Aramghar X Roads, and officials seized about 3.3 kg of ganja and two mobile phones from them.

Hyderabad: Task Force Police have busted an interstate ganja smuggling racket in Mylardevpally, Rajendranagar, and arrested two men from Jharkhand who were selling the contraband in the city.

The arrests followed a joint operation by the Charminar Zone Task Force and Mailardevpally police. The accused were caught at Aramghar X Roads, and officials seized about 3.3 kg of ganja and two mobile phones. Police estimate the contraband to be worth around Rs 1.80 lakh.

The arrested men, Inzamamul Haque and Anish Kumar Shah, hailed from Jharkhand and were living in Kompally, working in the catering field. During interrogation, they told police they had turned to the drug trade for quick money.

Investigators said the duo would buy ganja in Jharkhand at about Rs 13,000 per kg, carry it to Hyderabad by train, and sell it for up to Rs 20,000 per kg. Two more members of the gang are absconding. Police said special teams have been formed to trace them and that they will be arrested soon. Further investigation is underway to identify other links in the network.
