Ganesh Utsav Samiti Office To Be Opened July 23
The Samiti said it was ready to coordinate and successfully conduct the 47th Samuhik Ganesh Utsav in Bhagyanagar, scheduled from September 14 to 25.
HYDERABAD: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti will inaugurate its office on Thursday as preparations for the Vinayaka Chaturthi gather pace. The event will be attended by Ganesh festival organisers, prominent city elders and representatives from Hindutva, spiritual, religious and social organisations.
The Samiti said it was ready to coordinate and successfully conduct the 47th Samuhik Ganesh Utsav in Bhagyanagar, scheduled from September 14 to 25. The office inauguration coincides with the birth anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, following a puja at Baheti Bhavan, Siddiamber Bazaar.
Telangana emerges as major API hub
The Centre has approved 13 projects for Telangana in the bulk drugs sector under the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme. It also said 48 active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) manufacturing units were operating under the pharma PLI scheme in the state.
Minister of state for chemicals and fertilisers Anupriya Patel, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, said the bulk drug projects were spread across Nalgonda, Sangareddy, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri and Medak districts. Nalgonda and Sangareddy secured five units each, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri two and Medak one.
Under the pharma PLI scheme, Telangana has 48 API units across eight districts. Sangareddy leads with 25 units, followed by Hyderabad and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri with five each, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Nalgonda with four each, Medak and Rangareddy with two each, and Kamareddy with one.
The Centre said the schemes aim to boost domestic manufacturing of key starting materials, drug intermediates and APIs, strengthen India’s pharmaceutical supply chain and reduce import dependence.
Nekkonda SI suspended over graft charges
The Warangal police commissionerate has suspended Nekkonda sub-inspector Mahender following a departmental inquiry into corruption allegations. Commissioner N. Shwetha issued the suspension orders on Tuesday after a preliminary probe reportedly found prima facie evidence supporting the charges.
Officials said the inquiry was initiated after complaints of misconduct and corruption were received against the officer. The preliminary findings indicated sufficient grounds for disciplinary action.
The SI was placed under suspension pending further investigation. Police authorities did not disclose the specific nature of the allegations or the amount involved. They said a detailed departmental inquiry would continue and further action would follow based on its outcome.
