Ganesh Utsav Samithi Seeks Action Against DCP

Dr Shashidhar alleged that the officer’s actions: Reports

HYDERABAD: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi has demanded action against Charminar Zone DCP Kiran Khare for allegedly ill‑treating Ganesh Mandap organisers. The Samithi also sought an unconditional apology from the officer.

In a statement, Samithi general secretary Dr Ravinuthala Shashidhar alleged that the DCP did not conduct a single coordination meeting during the 11‑day Ganesh festival with the organisers. He said the officer summoned them after the festival to Charminar police station and treated them “like rowdy sheeters” by making them stand before him.

Dr Shashidhar alleged that the officer’s actions could provoke Hindu society. He asked whom the DCP was trying to impress through such behaviour. The Samithi leader demanded that city police commissioner V. C. Sajjanar initiate suitable action against the officer. He warned that the Samithi would launch direct protests if the DCP was not punished.
