Gandhi Medical College Faculty Celebrate IIRF Rank Among Telangana Government Medical Colleges

Gandhi Medical College has secured the 43rd rank nationally, ninth in the

zone and first in Telangana among government medical colleges in the IIRF

–2026 rankings. Faculty members said the ranking reflected the collective

efforts of the Gandhi Medical College fraternity in medical education,

patient care, academics, research and teamwork under the leadership of the

Principal.

The faculty and students said the recognition would encourage the

institution to continue its efforts to improve its national ranking in the

coming years. In the Telangana rankings, Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad,

was placed 52nd, while Kakatiya Medical College, Warangal, secured the 60th

position. Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Adilabad, was

ranked 139th.

At the national level, AIIMS, New Delhi, secured the first position among

government medical institutions.

Faculty members described Gandhi Medical College's 43rd national rank and

first position in Telangana as a milestone for the institution and said it

would motivate students and faculty to aim for higher rankings. Faculty

members, doctors and students of the college organised a felicitation

programme to mark the achievement and congratulated Principal Dr K. Indhira.

Faculty members felicitated the Principal, followed by a cake-cutting

ceremony.

The programme was attended by Dr Sunil Kumar, deputy superintendent; Dr S.

Chandra Shekar, Dr Rajaram and Dr B.V. Naga Mohan, vice-principals; Dr Avula

Muralidhar, president, TGDA Gandhi Unit; Dr Vikram, JUDA president; heads of

departments, faculty members, doctors and students.
