Revolutionary Balladeer Gaddar Remembered on His Birth Anniversary

Hyderabad: Leaders across the political spectrum paid rich tributes to people’s poet and revolutionary balladeer Gaddar on his birth anniversary on Thursday, remembering his immense contribution to people’s movements, social justice and the Telangana cultural renaissance.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said Gaddar dedicated his life to the struggles of the oppressed and used culture as a powerful weapon of resistance. He said Gaddar’s voice would continue to inspire future generations in the fight for equality and dignity.
Minister Seethakka described Gaddar as the pinnacle of the Telangana cultural movement, stating that his songs and performances awakened the collective consciousness of four crore people. She paid profound tributes to the legendary cultural icon.
Senior Congress leader Jupally Krishna Rao said Gaddar, with his folk attire, ankle bells and powerful performances, played a crucial role in the second phase of the Telangana movement. He termed him the “Praja Yuddhanauka” who steered people’s struggles through art and song.
Congress leader Vamshi Chand Reddy also paid homage, stating that Gaddar’s memories live on in the hearts of the people and that his legacy continues to guide social and cultural movements in Telangana.
