Fresh Registration Needed For Graduates’ MLC Polls
Officials clarified that even those who voted earlier in the Graduates’ Constituency must register again, as a fresh voter list is prepared for every Legislative Council election

HYDERABAD: Chief Electoral Officer C. Sudarshan Reddy announced that the last date to file Form‑18 for voter enrolment in the Graduates’ MLC elections for Mahabubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad and Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda constituencies is November 6.
If a name is missing from the list or an entry needs correction, claims and objections can be filed between November 25 and December 10.
Officials clarified that even those who voted earlier in the Graduates’ Constituency must register again, as a fresh voter list is prepared for every Legislative Council election. Only the prescribed Form‑18 is valid; plain paper applications will not be accepted. The form must be submitted to the local Electoral Registration Officer or Assistant Officer, usually the RDO, Sub‑Collector or Tahsildar.
By October 27, 3,75,814 forms were received in Warangal–Khammam–Nalgonda and 2,87,995 forms in Mahabubnagar–Rangareddy–Hyderabad.
Both Congress and BRS have asked for more time. On Wednesday, Congress leaders sought a four‑week extension, citing lack of awareness and difficulty in getting documents attested. On October 26, BRS also demanded an extension, warning that many graduates could be left out due to attestation hurdles and tight deadlines.
