Free Power For Ganesh Pandals Across Telangana; Discoms Set Up 24x7 Safety Checks
The power infrastructure would be monitored round-the-clock: Southern discom chairman and managing director Jitesh V. Patil
HYDERABAD: Power distribution companies have made arrangements to provide free electricity supply to Ganesh pandals across the state, following directions from Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy. Southern discom chairman and managing director Jitesh V. Patil on Sunday visited the Khairatabad and Balapur Ganesh pandals and reviewed arrangements for uninterrupted power supply and safety measures during the festival.
He interacted with members of the Ganesh Utsav committees and enquired about power supply, back-up systems and emergency response mechanisms.
Patil said the power infrastructure would be monitored round-the-clock from the installation of the idols until the completion of the immersion processions.
At the Balapur pandal, Patil said an officer would be designated for each pandal to monitor power supply round-the-clock. He appealed to organisers not to resort to direct hooking from electricity lines, warning that it could be highly dangerous.
He urged organisers and the public to contact the TGSPDCL helpline at 1912 or WhatsApp number 8712441912 in case of any power-related emergency.
