Only follow my senior’s instructions, says B.L.N. Reddy
Hyderabad:Former HMDA officer B.L.N. Reddy on Friday reportedly told the ACB that he transferred `54 crore including `45 crore to the UK-based Formula E Operations Limited and `8 crore to the income-tax (IT) department as a penalty following the instructions of senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar.
The former official appeared before the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in connection to the Formula E Racing irregularities case.
Reddy reportedly told the ACB officials that he only executed the oral directions of his senior officers by transferring the funds from the HMDA account to the UK-based company. They also reportedly asked the former official if he had transferred any amount from HMDA to other accounts in India.
The agency officials also focused their examination on HMDA's finance activities when Arvind Kumar was working in the department and his oral directions to the HMDA officials.
Interestingly, Reddy also informed the agency that he had no idea about any return amount which was deposited into the HMDA's accounts after finishing events.
