Former Wyra MLA Madhan Lal Passes Away At 62
Madhan Lal was elected as the Wyra MLA in 2014 on YSR Congress ticket. Later that year, he switched to the BRS.

Nalgonda: Former Wyra MLA Banothu Madhan Lal passed away while undergoing treatment for a cardiac ailment at a hospital in Hyderabad on Tuesday. He was 62. Madhan Lal was elected as the Wyra MLA in 2014 on YSR Congress ticket. Later that year, he switched to the BRS. He contested as a BRS candidate from the ST-reserved Wyra constituency in Khammam district in the 2018 and 2023 Assembly elections but was unsuccessful.
His mortal remains were brought to Khammam and placed at his residence for public viewing. The body will be shifted to his native village, Varlapally in Raghunathapalem mandal, in the early hours of Wednesday. His final rites will be performed at 10:30 am.
Former chief minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao expressed condolences to the bereaved family. He spoke to Madhan Lal’s son Mrugendhar, a joint commissioner of GST in Coimbatore, who rushed to Khammam after learning of his father’s demise.
Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy recalled his close association with Madhan Lal in both YSRC and BRS, calling his death an irreparable loss. Agriculture minister Tummala Nageswara Rao said Madhan Lal strived for tribal welfare and termed him a dedicated leader of Wyra.
