Forged Papers Used To Grab Family Plots, EOW Probe On

Cyberabad EOW has registered a case over alleged forged documents used to transfer four family plots in Ameenpur, with an investigation underway.

Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has registered a case after allegations that forged documents were used to fraudulently transfer properties belonging to a deceased couple’s family in Ameenpur.

The complainant from Kukatpally stated that his parents had purchased four plots — No.s 316, 324, 325 and 349 — in Survey No. 967 at Mallikarjunnagar, Beerumguda village. After their deaths, he and his elder brother became legal heirs. He alleged that fraudulent transactions were later discovered, with a fictitious person projected as the sole heir.

According to the complaint, a General Power of Attorney (GPA) based on forged papers was created in 2018. The accused allegedly fabricated a legal heirs affidavit, death certificates and an Aadhaar card, and used them to execute a sale deed for some of the disputed plots. The complainant said the documents were passed off as genuine to cause wrongful loss to the legitimate heirs.

The complainant and his brother had earlier approached a civil court, challenging the GPA and sale transactions. The court issued a status quo order in September 2020, which remains in force.

Based on the complaint, EOW registered a case under BNS sections relating to cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy. Investigation is underway.
