The forest official claimed they got the primary information about a carcass of wildlife on May 15, which finally turned out to be a tigress.

Adilabad: The forest officials remanded 12 accused, including four prime accused in the case of tigress’ death, to the Asifabad court, and the accused are from Penchikalpet, Chinna Raspalli, Yellur villages in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district on Friday.

According to sources, the forest officials took the nearly 30 persons who had cases of poaching and were involved in such incidents in the past and questioned them about the death of a tigress on the outskirts of the Yellur village in Penchikalpet mandal.

The forest official claimed they got the primary information about a carcass of wildlife on May 15, which finally turned out to be a tigress.

The forest official said they can’t confirm that the carcass is that of K8, which was moving in the area.

Later, Asifabad DFO Neeraj Tibrewal said the pattern of the tigress skin they seized from the poachers matched the tigress named K8 moving in the Penchikalpet area. It is said that the prime accused were involved in shifting the carcass to 200 meters away from the exact location where it was electrocuted and skinning it.

However, many doubts were raised on the theory of the tigress being electrocuted in the area since there are no signs of burns found on the skin, and a certain portion of the tail and head was removed from the main skin that was seized. It is learnt that the three accused involved in the death of the Tigress are absconding and forest officials are serving them.
