Food Safety Raids Expose Major Hygiene Violations at Nagole Eateries

Violations included pest infestation, expired and mislabeled food products, improper food storage, suspected repeated use of cooking oil, and poor sanitary conditions

Hyderabad: As part of the statewide food safety inspections, gross food safety and hygiene violations of serious public health concern were detected by Telangana Food Safety officials at two eateries - Urban Monk Fine Baking and Cyber Pearl Brewing Pvt. Ltd. (Meld House) on Nagole Main Road.

Violations included pest infestation, expired and mislabeled food products, improper food storage, suspected repeated use of cooking oil, and poor sanitary conditions.

Similarly, during inspections in Karimnagar, serious violations were detected at Ganesh Bangalore Bakery, Subhash Nagar, Mancherial Chowrasta. Officials said 750 damaged, foul-smelling and housefly-infested eggs were found and 20 kg cakes suspected to be prepared using them were also discarded on the spot

They said they discarded the suspected reused oil and expired and spoiled food articles on the spot. They lifted samples and sent them for analysis. Necessary action is being initiated against the food business operators under the Food Safety and Standards Act.

In a public advisory, officials asked consumers to purchase food only from hygienic licensed establishments and report unsafe food practices to food safety authorities.
