Hyderabad: The statement of Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the Lok Sabha that Telangana stood third in the country in per capita income yet again underlined the fact that the state under the BRS had made great strides in improving living standards and income of the people, senior party leader and former minister T. Harish Rao said.
In a statement, Harish Rao said the 83.4 per cent growth in per capita net state domestic product in Telangana between 2013-14 and 2023-24 cited by the finance minister on Monday, in a reply to a question in the Lok Sabha, was a testament to the commitment and dedication of the BRS government led by the-Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
“Under KCR, the BRS government implemented several development and welfare schemes which played a key role in Telangana reaching such great heights. These programmes include Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, the IT and industrial policies, rural and urban development schemes, and taking up irrigation projects. Employment creation was another hallmark of the BRS government’s achievements,” he said.
