Five SCR Staff Honoured for Averting Unsafe Conditions

During a safety review meeting, Srivastava examined the functioning of high energy absorbing dead end buffer stops installed at terminal stations and assessed the progress of tree trimming works being carried out to improve visibility of railway signals.

Hyderabad: South Central Railway (SCR) honoured five employees with the ‘Employee of the Month’ safety award for their alertness in preventing unsafe conditions. SCR general manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava presented the awards to locomotive pilots, a pointsman, an assistant traction distribution employee and a keyman. Of the five awardees, three were from Secunderabad division, one from Hyderabad and one from Nanded division.

During a safety review meeting, Srivastava examined the functioning of high energy absorbing dead end buffer stops installed at terminal stations and assessed the progress of tree trimming works being carried out to improve visibility of railway signals. He directed officials to speed up the process wherever required.

With the monsoon season underway, the general manager also reviewed the zone’s preparedness and precautionary measures to ensure safe train operations. SCR officials said the review focused on maintaining operational safety, strengthening infrastructure readiness and ensuring uninterrupted train services during the rainy season.
