First Phase Indiramma Houses to Be Completed by Next Dasara: Sridhar Babu
The Minister assured that essential infrastructure, including roads, drinking water facilities and lifts, would be provided to the Indiramma Towers within the stipulated deadline

Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister and Ranga Reddy District In-charge Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu has assured that all Indiramma houses sanctioned in the first phase will be completed within a year and handed over to beneficiaries by the next Dasara.
Stating that the delays in house construction witnessed during the previous government would not be repeated, the Minister said the present government was committed to ensuring that poor families received their own homes within the stipulated timeframe.
Sridhar Babu was speaking on Wednesday at the foundation-laying ceremony for Indiramma houses sanctioned to 480 beneficiaries at Pocharam in Ghatkesar mandal. Revenue and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, local MP Eatala Rajender, Medchal MLA Mallareddy and MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, among others, attended the programme.
The Minister assured that essential infrastructure, including roads, drinking water facilities and lifts, would be provided to the Indiramma Towers within the stipulated deadline.
Recalling the welfare initiatives launched soon after the government assumed office, Sridhar Babu said the Congress government had fulfilled its promises by implementing free electricity for households consuming up to 200 units a month and distributing six kilograms of fine-quality rice per person to white ration cardholders.
He said the government was constructing Indiramma houses within the respective constituencies of eligible beneficiaries, enabling homeless poor families to secure permanent housing in their own areas.
He emphasised that the houses were being built on highly valuable land, offering beneficiaries a substantial asset. Pointing to the high property prices in the Pocharam area, the Minister said that purchasing even a single-bedroom flat there could cost around ₹40 lakh. In contrast, eligible beneficiaries would receive homes of considerable value by contributing just ₹6 lakh, he said.
Sridhar Babu said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Housing Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy had taken up the Indiramma housing programme as a major mission to fulfil the aspirations of homeless families across the state.
He stressed that the allocation of houses was being carried out in a completely transparent manner through a lottery system, eliminating human intervention and ensuring fairness in the selection of beneficiaries.
The Minister said the government was implementing the first phase of the Indiramma housing programme with a target of 25 lakh houses across Telangana. He reiterated that the government would provide houses to every eligible homeless family in a phased manner, reaffirming its commitment to affordable housing and social welfare.
