First NDA Woman Cadet Commissioned Into IAF Ground Duty

HYDERABAD: Flying Officer Divyanshi Singh’s childhood was shaped by stories of the Indian Air Force. Growing up in a family where her father served as an air warrior, she was inspired by tales of discipline, honour and selfless service, according to the defence ministry.
What began as admiration for the uniform eventually became a mission. When the National Defence Academy (NDA) opened its doors to women, Flying Officer Singh seized the opportunity and cleared the highly competitive entrance examination.
Her journey through NDA was marked by rigorous training, demanding drills and relentless challenges. Despite the physical and mental pressures, she excelled and earned the appointment of Cadet Quarter Master Sergeant, a leadership position that reflected her capabilities and determination.
After three years of training, Flying Officer Singh emerged as one of the academy’s top performers. She went on to receive the prestigious President’s Plaque for standing first in the overall order of merit in the Ground Duty branches at the Air Force Academy (AFA), Dundigal.
With her commissioning, Flying Officer Singh has created history by becoming the first former NDA woman cadet to be commissioned into the Ground Duty branch of the Indian Air Force.
