First Heatwave Warning For Telangana This Summer
The Meteorological Centre, Hyderabad, has warned that the capital’s daytime temperatures may spike to 44°C by the end of the week, placing it under the “Be Prepared” category through April 25.

Hyderabad: The IMD on Tuesday placed the whole state on an yellow alert for heat, meaning that severe weather conditions could affect daily life, even as it issued the first heatwave caution of the season for four northern Telangana districts.
Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal and Mancherial were issued an orange alert, cautioning residents of increased likelihood of heat illness symptoms in people who are either exposed to sun for a prolonged period.
Nirmal recorded the state’s highest maximum temperature at 44.5°C. In Hyderabad, many areas on Tuesday touched or crossed 41.5°C, including Ziaguda, Musheerabad, Hafizpet, Moosapet, Lingampally, Rajendranagar and Khairatabad. The city, meanwhile, experienced the new normal of a hot day and a rainy evening. Dilsukhnagar, Uppal, Chaitanyapuri, Habsiguda, Ramanthapur, Malakpet and Santoshnagar experienced intense showers, while LB Nagar saw a sharp shift in conditions with gusty winds hinting at imminent rainfall.
Officials have advised the public to remain cautious, especially in light of lightning activity. People have been urged not to stand on terraces or speak on mobile phones during thunderstorms and to carry umbrellas or raincoats if heading outdoors.
