Fire Safety Drills Held At Tellapur
Tellapur residents trained in fire safety

Hyderabad: Telangana fire services department, Patancheru, in collaboration with Tellapur Neighbourhood Association (TENA), conducted a fire drill on Saturday at an apartment complex in Osmannagar. Fire department personnel simulated a fire emergency scenario, demonstrating evacuation procedures, response protocols and the use of emergency systems installed in the complex. Residents were trained in operating fire extinguishers, understanding fire alarm systems and using hydrants and sprinkler systems.
Special guidance was provided to residents on how to respond to fire-related emergencies, including effective communication and safe evacuation techniques. Women were specifically trained to handle gas leaks in kitchens, a common cause of household fires.
Patancheru fire officer Naga Raju led the drill and demonstrated ways to evacuate during a fire, stressing techniques to avoid smoke inhalation and suffocation. He advised every community to form internal fire squads that can guide fellow residents to safety during emergencies by managing evacuation routes and assembly points.
TENA president Eshwaragari Ramana emphasised the need for preventive steps against electrical short circuits and gas leaks. He noted that regular mock drills equip residents, especially fire wardens, with critical skills and awareness
