Fire-Fighters Inspect 70 Establishments in ORR Limits to Ensure Safety Norms
The inspections were mainly focused on fire and life safety violations in buildings that pose imminent danger to fire and life safety of the inmates there by endangering their lives
Hyderabad: In the wake of major fire accidents within ORR limits, the Telangana Fire Services department inspected 70 establishments including 26 commercial buildings and a multiplex and asked the management to ensure all fire safety norms.
Fire Services Department Director General, Vikram Singh Mann, has instructed the fire officials to launch intense inspections of buildings within ORR limits on war footing basis. The inspections were mainly focused on fire and life safety violations in buildings that pose imminent danger to fire and life safety of the inmates there by endangering their lives.
Focus was also laid on how cellars were used for other than parking purposes like storage purposes, housing servants and watchman families, blocking staircase and ramps by storing huge quantities of material. Officials were instructed to initiate action on the management if any lapses found in fire safety.
Management has to ensure that all fire safety norms are properly followed, compliance with fire safety codes, proper functioning of fire safety systems, extinguishers and sprinklers installed in the establishments. In all, 70 different types of establishments have been checked. The Fire Director-General appealed to all to follow guidelines and norms.
