The incident caused panic among local residents due to the thick smoke.
Hyderabad: A fire broke out at Surya Enterprises’' potato chips godown in Papireddynagar in Jagadgirigutta on Wednesday morning.
According to Jagadgirigutta SI Rajesh, no casualties were reported. When thick smoke and flames engulfed the godown, locals learnt of it and informed the fire department. Two fire engines reached the spot and managed to douse the flames before they could spread further.
Based on the owner’s complaint, Jagadgirigutta police have registered a case and launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire.
The official estimated loss is known to be `20 lakh, although locals ascertained a higher property loss.
The owner of the godown suspects someone to be behind the fire accident. The police are investigating and have not revealed the name of the suspect yet.
