FIR Must Be Issued at Crime Scene Only: Sajjanar to SHOs

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar on Thursday made it clear to the Station House Officers (SHOs) and police officers to issue the First Information Report (FIR) at the crime scene itself.
Participating in a sensitization meeting with officers at TGICCC here regarding the disciplined implementation of the Telangana Police’s 'Victim and Citizen-Centric Approach, he categorically that in cases of accidents, unnatural deaths, and thefts, the FIR must be registered on the spot or at the hospital.
“No victim should be forced to visit the police station unnecessarily. Strict departmental action will be taken against officers who fail to comply. Accountability is key. Report non-compliance here 94906 16555,” he said in a post on ‘X'.
