Fake WhatsApp Account Created in HMWSSB MD Ashok Reddy’s Name
The messages may initially begin with casual greetings and could later be used to seek money or request financial transactions.
Hyderabad:The HMWS&SB has warned people about a fake WhatsApp account created using the name and photograph of its managing director Ashok Reddy. The board said unidentified persons were using a foreign mobile number beginning with +84 to send messages in Ashok Reddy’s name. The messages may initially begin with casual greetings and could later be used to seek money or request financial transactions.
Ashok Reddy urged people not to trust messages from unknown numbers using his name or photograph, transfer money or share OTPs and bank details. People receiving suspicious messages have been advised not to respond, but instead block and report the number. Any request for money or other financial transactions in his name should be independently verified through official channels, the HMWSSB said.
