Hyderabad: A recent inspection by food safety officials at Natural Flavours, a food and beverage outlet located in Tirumala Towers, Ameerpet, revealed multiple violations of the Food Safety and Standards Act (FSS Act), 2006. The inspection, conducted on April 16, 2025, uncovered serious lapses in hygiene and compliance, prompting authorities to issue a warning of potential closure.
According to officials, the establishment was operating without a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license or registration. The outlet also failed to maintain essential records, including pest control logs, medical fitness certificates for staff, and water analysis reports. Officials discovered expired fruit syrups, including pineapple crush, blackcurrant crush, orange crush, blue curaçao, and banana crush, stored for use. Additionally, soda bottles were found unlabelled, lacking manufacturing and expiry dates.
Further violations included severe hygiene issues: several cockroaches were found inside the refrigerator, and open dustbins were observed on the premises. The food handler was not wearing a head cap or apron, violating basic food safety protocols.
Authorities have issued a notice to Natural Flavours under the FSS Act, 2006, warning that the establishment faces closure if it fails to rectify the violations.
