Expedite Sunkishala Works: Water Board MD to Officials
The project aims to supply drinking water to Hyderabad even when water levels in Nagarjunasagar fall during summer.

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) managing director Ashok Reddy visited the Sunkishala water project site near Nagarjunasagar to check the progress of ongoing works on Wednesday. He inspected the pipeline works and the intake well and instructed officials to ensure quality and speed up construction.
The project aims to supply drinking water to Hyderabad even when water levels in Nagarjunasagar fall during summer.
“Tunnel and electrical works are almost complete, while civil works are still in progress,” he said. He also asked officials to remove debris from damaged walls quickly and submit plans for reconstruction.
Special ropeways and cranes are being used to remove cement debris. He also directed that bund and tunnel works be completed before the monsoon and suggested installing gates and screens to prevent damage during floods.
