Exclusive industrial parks for women in every constituency, says Minister Sridhar Babu
Telangana emerged as a national leader in IT and pharmaceutical sectors: Minister
Hyderabad: IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu here on Saturday announced that exclusive industrial parks for women would be established in every legislative constituency, with a special emphasis on empowering rural women.
The Minister formally launched the brochure for the second edition of “Food A Fair,” scheduled to be held from June 12 to 14 at HITEX.
Addressing the gathering, he stated that the exhibition was being organized jointly by the State government, HITEX exhibitions, and the Telangana Food Processing Society. He noted that food producers, processing experts, packaging industry professionals, and chefs will participate in the event, engaging in intellectual discussions across various domains.
Just as Telangana has emerged as a national leader in the IT and pharmaceutical sectors, the government now aims to position the State at the forefront of agriculture and agro-based industries as well. The Minister highlighted that Telangana provides favorable conditions for the establishment of food processing industries.
Investments worth over Rs.16,000 crore have already been committed in this sector, and projects are progressing at various stages of development. The State currently houses 14 special food processing zones spread across 7,150 acres.
Going forward, priority will be given to setting up such facilities in tier-2 and Tier-3 cities and towns. He further mentioned that more than 6,800 micro food processing units are already operational in the State. The government will continue to provide financial support to new and aspiring entrepreneurs in this space.
