Excise STF Busts MDMA Racket in Amberpet; Bengaluru Link Uncovered

The team intercepted a car carrying the suspects and conducted searches during which the MDMA was recovered.

The Excise STF B-Team arrested four persons, including a repeat offender, for allegedly possessing and selling MDMA in Amberpet and seized 4.62 grams of the substance. The arrested accused were identified as Sheikh Faisal, P. Anshu Prasad, Masood and Preethi Vardhan. The operation was carried out in the early hours by STF officials led by SI Sandhya.

Police said the accused had allegedly procured around 20 grams of MDMA from Bengaluru and were selling the drug in Hyderabad. The officials stated that Faisal was involved in multiple drug-related cases and was absconding in three cases.

Thieves Target Kohed Government School; Steal Computer Batteries and Kitchen Utensils

Hyderabad: Thieves broke into a government school in Kohed under Hayathnagar police limits and stole a 10-kg cooker, two rice bowls and their lids from the kitchen section. The accused also removed six batteries from the computer laboratory and escaped with them. School headmistress N. Tirupatibai lodged a complaint with the police after learning the theft.

Woman Ends Life During Video Call with Husband in Vanasthalipuram

A 40-year-old homemaker, Eeramalla Aruna, died by suicide at her house in Sahebnagar while on a video call with her husband E. Ramesh, following an argument with him, Vanasthalipuram police said. Ramesh informed his wife that he was going to his native village but Aruna wanted him to go to work.

Despite her request, Ramesh proceeded with his travel plans due to to which Aruna became upset. Police said she made a video call to her husband and died by suicide while speaking to him. Family members immediately alerted the police. Based on a complaint lodged by the couple’s son, Vikranth, police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem examination.

Secunderabad Police Crack Down on Public Nuisance; 110 Booked in Two-Hour Blitz

Secunderabad zone police booked 110 persons during a special enforcement drive for public drinking, smoking and ganja consumption. The drive was carried out between 6.30 pm and 8.30 pm under the supervision of Secunderabad DCP Rakshitha Krishna Murthy along with ACPs, SHOs and other police personnel. Police deployed 38 teams to inspect isolated and vulnerable spots including GHMC parks, graveyards, wine shops and other identified dark areas across the zone. During the drive, police apprehended one person for allegedly consuming ganja, 28 for smoking in public places and 81 for consuming alcohol in public areas.

Police registered cases against all the violators and counselled them against repeating such activities, stating that public drinking and smoking cause inconvenience and disturbance to citizens. Officials said similar special drives targeting open boozing, smoking in public places and ganja-related activities would continue in the future across Secunderabad Zone.
