Excise Constable Death: Telangana Govt Announces ₹1 Cr Ex-gratia, Job to Kin

Soumya sustained critical injuries on January 23 while attempting to intercept a gang illegally transporting ganja in Nizamabad. The smugglers deliberately rammed their vehicle into her while trying to flee.
Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Sunday announced financial assistance of ₹1 crore and a government job to a family member of excise constable Gajula Soumya (25), who succumbed to injuries after being run over by ganja smugglers while on duty in Nizamabad district.

She was shifted to NIMS, Hyderabad, where she was undergoing treatment, but succumbed to her injuries on Saturday night.
