Rain Brings Down Mercury Levels in Telangana

Tarnaka, Habsiguda, and Dilsukhnagar had very light rain, while Banjara Hills, Paradise and Begumpet saw brief drizzles.

Hyderabad: Several parts of Hyderabad and nearby districts received heavy rainfall on Thursday evening, offering much-needed relief from weeks of summer heat. Areas like Kapra and Malkajgiri recorded moderate rainfall, while Uppal, Ramanthapur, Secunderabad, Nagole, Alwal, Musheerabad and Hayathnagar saw light showers. Residents welcomed the change and shared photos and videos on social media.

Tarnaka, Habsiguda, and Dilsukhnagar had very light rain, while Banjara Hills, Paradise and Begumpet saw brief drizzles. Gachibowli and parts of Habsiguda experienced moderate showers later in the evening. Rain was also reported in surrounding districts, including Medchal, Vikarabad and Ranga Reddy, cooling temperatures and making the weather pleasant by night.

Thursday was generally cooler across Telangana. Temperatures hovered between 32°C and 36°C, below the usual highs of 40°C to 45°C. Only a few places, like Mancherial and Jagtial, touched 40°C to 43°C. No heat warnings were issued. With more showers expected in the coming days, the weather department has advised residents to stay updated with forecasts.
