Equal Stress on Development, Welfare: Dy CM
Deputy CM highlights education, housing and food security schemes despite financial constraints.
Karimnagar: Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has said the Congress government in Telangana continues to lay stress on both development and welfare activities.
Vikramarka was here to lay the foundation for developmental works at the Dharmapuri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. He was welcomed by Congress workers led by welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar at Dharmaram of Peddapalli district on Sunday night.
The deputy CM said that despite the present financial constraints, the state government was continuing with various welfare schemes and taking up developmental programmes with equal vigour.
The state government, he said, is giving top priority to the education sector. The breakfast scheme was introduced to provide nutritious food to poor students in government schools.
“Besides, to enable the students from Telangana to compete with the rest of the world, the state government is constructing Young India integrated schools in every constituency by spending Rs 200 crore,” he noted.
Also, in order to provide houses to homeless families, the Indiramma housing scheme was being implemented by spending a huge sum of Rs 22,500 crore. The state government is also supplying six kg rice to each of 6 lakh families, the deputy CM pointed out.
