Enhanced Bhu Bharati Portal From March, Says Ponguleti

Minister call BRS’ district reorganisation faulty, likely to redraw district borders: Reports

HYDERABAD: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said on Tuesday that the Bhu Bharati portal would be unveiled in March and made fully accessible to the public, to provide improved, transparent and time-bound land-related services. He said the portal would bring the revenue, stamps and registration, and survey and land records departments under a single integrated platform.

Srinivas Reddy said the government would consider rectifying the unscientific reorganisation of districts, revenue divisions and mandals carried out by the previous BRS government. He said that the existing anomalies would be corrected, and the administrative units would be restructured rationally.

Speaking in the Assembly, Srinivas Reddy alleged that the earlier reorganisation of districts by the BRS government led to situations where mandals within a single Assembly constituency were placed in different districts.

He acknowledged the need for new mandals and divisions, and said a special report would be prepared and implemented only after obtaining a broad consensus.

Speaking after releasing the Telangana Revenue Employees Services Association (TRESSA) 2026 diary at Nampally, the minister said the Bhu Bharati portal had been designed as a comprehensive and people-friendly system.

It would contain complete details of agricultural and non-agricultural lands, endowment properties, forest lands, wakf lands and other categories, enabling citizens to access accurate information in one place. The initiative, he said, was part of the state government’s efforts to permanently resolve land disputes that had persisted for decades.

Srinivas Reddy said that under the guidance of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the government had taken several revolutionary decisions over the past two years to strengthen the land administration system. The Bhu Bharati portal, introduced as a prestigious project of the government, was emerging as a model for the rest of the country, he added.

Highlighting the importance of the survey department, which he described as the backbone of farmers’ land security, the minister said the government was taking steps to strengthen it on a priority basis. As part of this effort, 3,500 licensed surveyors had already been engaged, and another 3,000 would be appointed within a week to expedite surveys and address land-related grievances effectively.
