Engineering student dies of suspected cardiac arrest during college cricket match

Upon arrival, doctors pronounced him deceased.

Hyderabad: A final-year B.Tech student, identified as 21-year-old Vinay Kumar from Khammam district, tragically passed away on Friday, April 4, while participating in a cricket match at CMR Engineering College in Medchal. The incident, captured on CCTV, is suspected to be the result of a cardiac arrest.

The event occurred in the evening as the college hosted a cricket tournament on its campus. Vinay, who was fielding at the time, suddenly collapsed on the field. Fellow students and college staff immediately responded, rushing him to a nearby medical facility. However, upon arrival, doctors pronounced him deceased.
Preliminary medical assessments suggest a cardiac arrest as the likely cause of death. Vinay's family, who have been informed of the tragic incident, have not expressed any suspicion regarding the circumstances. Local police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
