Endowment Inspector Held in Rs.1.50 Lakh Bribe Case in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday arrested endowments department inspector Akavaram Kiran Kumar in connection with a bribery case. ACB officials said Kumar demanded a sum of Rs 1.50 lakh and accepted part payment of Rs 50,000 from the complainant for doing an official favour.

The bribe was demanded for issuing a survey report to the complainant regarding land in Survey No. 616 in Bagh Amberpet as per RC No. E/944/2021, a statement, issued by ACB, said.

Kumar is working at the office of assistant commissioner, endowment department. It is said that the chemically laced bribe amount of Rs 50,000 was recovered from the possession of the arrested person. ACB officials produced Kumar before the special court dealing in ACB cases after which the court remanded him to judicial custody. Details of the complainant were withheld for security reasons.
