Empowering The Community: Transgender Traffic Cops Receive Uniforms In Push For Inclusion

Radhika Reddy Tanguturu, founder of RCT, said the vent ‘Shakthi’ was not just about distributing uniforms, it was about restoring confidence, building pride, and sending a strong message that every individual deserves respect, opportunity, and dignity.

Hyderabad: City police commissioner V.C. Sajjanar distributed 40 uniform kits to transgender police personnel, marking a symbolic moment of inclusion within the Telangana police. The event was organised by Radhika Charitable Trust (RCT) on Monday. Sajjanar said he had worked with the trust as Cyberabad commissioner. He noted 38 transgender personnel were managing traffic duties on city roads.

“Leading life as a transgender person is not easy. Yet for the past two years they have been performing their duties efficiently and with dedication,” the commissioner said. He also mentioned one Shiny who was working with Deloitte. “We are looking forward to recruiting more transgender personnel in the near future,” he said.
