Embassy in India Warns Illegal Immigrants of Deportation If They Are Staying Beyond the Authorised Time
“If you remain in the United States beyond your authorised period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future”, the post read.

Hyderabad: The United States Embassy in India has issued a warning that any immigrant who stays in the United States beyond the authorised time could be deported or permanently banned from entering the US again. In a social media post, the embassy has reiterated US President Donald Trump's stance on illegal immigrants living in the US.
“If you remain in the United States beyond your authorised period of stay, you could be deported and could face a permanent ban on traveling to the United States in the future”, the post read.
The Trump government has received major blows from the US Supreme Court and federal district courts across the nation. The Supreme Court, on Friday, upheld its decision on blocking President Trump from deporting Venezuelan immigrants under a 1798 law historically used only in wartime.
Along with the Supreme Court, federal district courts are also ruling against Trump’s orders. A judge in South Dakota’s federal court granted injunction to Priya Saxena, an Indian PhD graduate whose visa was terminated for having a traffic violation in 2021.
The US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) terminated Saxena’s visa and deleted her Student and Exchange Visitor Programme (SEVIS) record in April, for not stopping for an emergency vehicle in 2021. Since her SEVIS record was deleted, she could no longer pursue her education.
Saxena filed a case against ICE and the department of homeland security for wrongful termination, and the court gave a temporary restraining order allowing her to graduate on May 10. On May 15, the court granted a preliminary injunction to her, allowing her to stay in the US.
