Warangal: Three persons have been arrested for murdering a 70-year-old woman over suspicions of black magic and fleeing with her gold and silver ornaments. The incident took place in Garmillapalli village of Chityal mandal, Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
According to DSP Sampat Rao, the victim, Sorupaka Veeramma, went missing after leaving home to sell tamarind. Her body was later found in an agricultural well. Family members filed a police complaint, stating that she had been murdered by unidentified assailants.
During the investigation on Wednesday, three suspects Boini Mallaiah and Puttakokkula Srinivas from Boinapally, and Maddela Siddhu from Garmillapalli surrendered to the police. Police revealed that Mallaiah suspected Veeramma of practicing black magic, believing she was responsible for his daughter’s illness. Seeking to eliminate her, Mallaiah enlisted the help of his relative Kittu and friend Siddhu.

The police have arrested all three accused and remanded them to judicial custody.
