Elderly Couple Dies By Suicide After Loss Of Three Sons
Family members noticed the incident and tried to rush them to hospital, but both died. Police reached the spot after receiving information and shifted the bodies for postmortem examination.
JANGAON: An elderly couple, reportedly distressed over the deaths of their three sons, died by suicide at Gabbeta village in Raghunathpally mandal on Thursday.
According to police, Gaini Lakshmi, 86, and Gaini Pullaiah, 91, were residents of Gabbeta. The couple had five children — two daughters and three sons. All three sons had died over the years due to different reasons.
Based on a complaint lodged by their daughter Karram Lalitha of Jangaon, police said the couple had been deeply distressed by the loss of their sons and struggled to cope with the grief. Family members said they often remained depressed and told them that they had lost the happiness in their lives.
They also reportedly feared becoming a burden on others in their old age. Police said the couple consumed pesticide together.
