Elaborate security arrangements made for Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra: CV Anand
20,000 police personnel to be deployed for Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand on Thursday said that elaborate security arrangements were made for Sri Ram Navami Shobha Yatra on April 6.
Anand, who chaired a coordination meeting with officers from all departments at Draupadi Garden in Sitaram Bagh here, said the yatra started in 2010 has gained fame across the country in a short time. The yatra proceeds from Sitaram Bagh to Hanuman Gymnasium near Koti.
The procession will start from Mangalhat, proceeding via Puranapool Gandhi Statue, Jummerath Bazaar, Siddiamber Bazar, Afzalgunj, Gowliguda, Koti Andhra Bank crossroads, and conclude at Hanuman Gymnasium grounds.
“We are making significant security arrangements all along the yatra route to prevent any untoward incidents. The people and the festival organizers should cooperate with the police for peaceful conduct of the yatra,” he said.
He requested organizers to make arrangements for the yatra from midnight onwards. Keeping in view the past experiences, and considering that the yatra routes were quite narrow, making it difficult for large vehicles to pass, the festival committee members were asked to arrange a trial run with vehicles in advance.
Since the police department is monitoring security with the help of drones, it was suggested that anyone wishing to use drones should obtain permission from local police in advance. Otherwise, it will cause problems for both the yatra organizers and the police.
“It has been learned that people are experiencing heart problems and hearing issues due to the use of DJ sound systems. Therefore, for the welfare of everyone, using a regular sound system instead of a DJ is advisable,” Anand said.
He asked the organizers to ensure that there are no songs or speeches that denigrate other communities during the yatra. A joint control room will be set up in the ICCC building to monitor the yatra. He asked all government departments to take steps to ensure that the yatra ends successfully without any problems.
He said special security arrangements will be made at all major intersections and problematic areas along the yatra route, along with continuous monitoring through CCTV cameras. He asked the organizers and people to follow rules during the yatra and celebrate the festival with devotion.
The organizers should take appropriate precautions regarding the height of the idols. All departments of the Hyderabad police and the special police are preparing to provide security with 20,000 personnel for the yatra.
“We have established a full-scale surveillance on the movements of criminals with the She Team and CCS police,” Anand said. He suggested that Hyderabad zonal police officers and other departmental officers form WhatsApp groups with their staff to facilitate information sharing.
He said that preventive measures have been taken to prevent any untoward incident in Hyderabad. GHMC Additional Commissioner said that all arrangements are being made for the yatra. Orders have been issued to all officials for road repairs, street lights, and other facilities, and instructions have been given to officials to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
After the meeting, Anand, and officials from other departments along with the members of Bhagyanagar Sri Ramanavami Utsav Samiti jointly inspected the main procession route.
